Become a JHIPH Affiliate

All faculty and staff leading programs, initiatives, or centers across any division of Johns Hopkins University are encouraged to become a JHIPH Affiliate. As an Affiliate, you’ll be invited to participate in the Planetary Health community in a number of ways, ranging from receiving information about Planetary Health funding opportunities at JHU and invitations to monthly convenings, to having the opportunity to participate in new research, policy, and education initiatives. We aim to ensure that all Affiliates are able to champion Planetary Health within their divisions and disciplines. 

Affiliates are invited to participate in the Planetary Health community at JHU in a number of ways, including:  

• Be featured in JHIPH’s community directory  

• Participate in JHIPH’s community dinners, lunches, and other community events and gatherings 

• Join the global Planetary Health Community as a member of the Planetary Health Alliance  

• Connect with community-driven Planetary Health initiatives in the greater Baltimore region 

• Collaborate with your colleagues in JHIPH’s Air Quality, Infectious Disease, and Food Systems Research Hubs, as well as in our working groups in coastal resilience, environmental health and human resilience, and cryosphere and critical resources. 

• Integrate Planetary Health concepts and themes into your courses 

• Connect with JHU’s growing Planetary Health Policy community by subscribing to the monthly Policy newsletter 

• Connect with expertise and efforts to translate innovation into implementation in areas ranging from Planetary Health cities to engineering.  

• Network with a growing cohort of clinicians and medical students to drive change in clinical curriculum and practice  

• Suggest new workstreams or working groups that would fit well within JHIPH’s mission

• Support student-driven Planetary Health initiatives by offering guest lectures and helping connect students with resources and Planetary Health research opportunities 

• Contribute to our community roundup of Planetary Health events, initiatives, and opportunities in JHIPH’s monthly newsletter We’d love to share your upcoming events with the JHIPH community!
