
Julian Goresko Office of Climate and Sustainability Liason
Julian Goresko is the Director of Sustainability for Johns Hopkins University, serving as the lead sustainability officer for one of Maryland’s largest private employers. In his role, Julian oversees the university’s Office of Climate and Sustainability and works with staff, faculty, students, and external partners to advance JHU’s commitments to sustainability and planetary health in operations and campus stewardship, community partnerships, and its academic mission.
Julian served as a co-chair in developing JHU’s Climate Action and Sustainability Plan, a ten-year roadmap endorsed by the Board of Trustees in June 2024 to integrate sustainability as a strategic pillar across areas of research and academics, climate change, built and natural environments, responsible consumption, and transportation and mobility. He is a regular contributor to local and national sustainability networks including Baltimore Colleges and Universities for a Sustainable Environment (B’CaUSE), the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), and the Ivy Plus Sustainability Collaborative.
Julian is a two-time graduate from the University of Pennsylvania with degrees in environmental studies and sustainability. He has worked in higher education for over fifteen years and has broad experience in sustainability planning and implementation across large organizations.
