Sophie Diltz Senior Special Events Coordinator
Sophie Diltz is the Senior Special Events Coordinator at the Johns Hopkins Institute for Planetary Health. Her responsibilities include planning and coordinating all institute events, with a focus on raising awareness and supporting its initiatives. Prior to joining the Institute, she organized events in the higher education industry with a focus of technology and gaming, overseeing the design and execution of exhibitor booths at major gaming conventions across the United States.
Her move from Washington State where she developed her love for the natural world to Baltimore marks an exciting new chapter in her career as she embraces the opportunity to serve the Institute for Planetary Health. With a passion for creating immersive experiences, Sophie has built her career crafting engaging events for diverse communities. During her undergraduate studies at Washington State University, Sophie organized drag shows, film screenings, art installations, open mic nights, and comedy shows. Most notable among them were her coordination of music festivals featuring renowned artists like Billie Eilish, J.E.D, T-Pain, 3Oh!3, and Lil Yachty.
Outside of work, Sophie enjoys crafting, watching movies, trying out new restaurants, spending time with her cats, or volunteering at the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter.
