Shannon Joyce Senior Administrative Coordinator

Shannon Joyce is the Senior Administrative Coordinator at the Johns Hopkins Institute for Planetary Health. Her responsibilities include supporting internal team functions and financial administration, assisting the Executive Director and Senior Administrator with grant management tasks, onboarding new employees, interns, and students, and managing access to JHIPH shared information technology systems.

Shannon has a background providing administrative and program support to NGOs, including Baltimore-based Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service and International Social Service – USA Branch. She has a demonstrated commitment to issues of social and planetary justice and is excited to work within an organization whose ideals align closely with her own. She has experience as a Data and Reporting Analyst in the healthcare space and most recently taught preschool before joining the Institute for Planetary Health team.

Shannon is a Maryland native and attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where she majored in English with a minor in French. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, taking her two dogs, Radish and Rosie, for walks in her Baltimore-area neighborhood, working in her garden, and, above all, spending time with her daughter.
