Description
The Jones Falls 2076 project is looking to hire a JHU graduate student as a project assistant. Jones Falls 2076 aims to spark new public conversations, radical dreaming, and action on the future of Baltimore’s Jones Falls river. This speculative design project will engage Baltimore residents, artists, designers, writers, scientists, activists, and political leaders to envision what the future of the river might look like in 2076, half a century from now. A series of public workshops, discussions, publications, and art exhibitions will offer opportunities to reimagine the Jones Falls together. The project is led by Anand Pandian (Anthropology, JHU), Lee Davis (MICA Center for Creative Impact), and Bruce Willen (artist and designer, Public Mechanics). Learn more about the project at jonesfalls2076.org.
Key responsibilities will include supporting the project with background research; coordinating meetings, events, workshops, exhibitions, and other logistics; coordinating among the project team at JHU, MICA, and elsewhere in Baltimore; helping with publicity and public communications via social media and other channels; keeping project deadlines and tasks on track.
