Maria Esposito Policy Program Associate

Maria Esposito (she/her) is a public health professional with expertise in global sexual and reproductive health, mix-method research, and data analysis. As a Policy Program Associate at the Johns Hopkins Institute for Planetary Health, she will coordinate the planning and implementation of JHIPH’s Planetary Policy Program. Additionally, she plans to cultivate partnerships across JHU, Baltimore, D.C., and global intergovernmental institutions.  

Before joining the Institute, she supported several U.S. federal agencies (USAID, NIH, DoD) and academic institutions on global family planning and HIV/AIDS programing, and climate change and HIV prevention research. She is passionate about investing in local to global perspectives and the intersection of human health and environmental systems. 

Maria holds an MPH from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, focusing on Global Health and Reproductive Health, and a BS in Public Health from American University. She is originally from Long Island, NY. In her free time, she likes to bike around, volunteer, and try South Indian spots in Baltimore and D.C.
