Matt Rigsby Innovation and Implementation Program Associate

Matt Rigsby is the Innovation and Implementation Program Associate at the Johns Hopkins Institute for Planetary Health. His role is to leverage cross-university expertise to expand transdisciplinary discovery and coordination to address the global health and humanitarian dimensions of the Earth crisis. In this role, Matt is responsible for developing Planetary Health case studies, coordinating working groups of faculty, staff, and students on Planetary Health topics, and socializing Planetary Health within various graduate departments.

Matt holds an MSPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, focusing on Maternal and Child Health. Previously, he worked as a Program Officer at the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs, where he worked on programs related to infectious diseases, COVID-19, and sexual and reproductive health. Matt brings experience in managing and coordinating public health programs from his work with organizations like the Peace Corps and Mount Sinai Health Systems.

Matt is a native to the DMV area and attended university at The College of William & Mary, where he studied Spanish and International Relations. In his free time, he enjoys long-distance running, reading fiction, fostering kittens, and walking around Patterson Park in Baltimore.
