Sarath Raju

Sarath Raju Research Hub Co-Lead, Air Quality

Dr. Sarath Raju is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.   Dr. Raju earned his M.D. from Rush Medical College. He completed his residency at Johns Hopkins, where he also performed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine.  He previously served as an Assistant Chief of Service for the Osler Medical Housestaff Training Program at Johns Hopkins. 

He is a practicing pulmonary physician with a focus on the care of high-risk populations with obstructive lung diseases (asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). His research has focused on studying the multisystem impacts of air quality on health in vulnerable communities. Dr. Raju is now supported by the NIH to conduct research investigating the impact of long-term air pollution exposure on lung health in high-risk populations.
